Kumba Iron Ore, ’n filiaal van Anglo American, het aangekondig sy wins in die afgelope boekejaar het met tot 31% geval, grootliks weens die daling in die prys van ystererts. Wesensverdienste gaan na verwagting R10,6 miljard beloop, vergeleke met R15,4 miljard in 2013. Die swakker rand-dollar-wisselkoers in die jaar kon nie die daling in die metaal se prys vergoed nie. Ystererts het in die jaar 47% goedkoper geword, terwyl die rand met 9,3% teenoor die dollar verswak het. Kumba reik sy resultate op 10 Februarie uit.
