Groot trokke straks gou van paaie verbied in spitsverkeer

Die departement van vervoer beoog ’n nuwe regulasie wat vragmotors met ’n gewig van meer as 9 000 kg verbied om in spitstydverkeer op die pad te wees. Dipuo Peters, minister van vervoer, het gesê beperkings op kommersiële vragmotors, soos dié wat diesel en boumateriaal vervoer, sal moontlik die padsterftes op Suid-Afrikaanse paaie verminder. A group of Executives and Grain SA staff members took an aerial survey of the North West Free State and the North West Province early this morning. “The summer grains (maize, sunflower and soya beans) are in a critical stage and the next fourteen days will determine the fate of South African food prices over the next 12 months,” Jannie de Villiers, CEO of Grain SA, said today.
